Drawings and Other Documents: This course provides the attendee with information on the types of drawings and documentation needed to plan and execute piping design, fabrication, installation and testing of piping systems. In addition to the necessary drawings needed for a project there are other documents required to control and document the various aspects and stages of the design and construction process.

Pipe, Fittings, and Valves:  This course provides the attendee with a better understanding of the pipe and fittings they work with daily. You will become familiar with pressure rating values and what they mean. Mechanical, Process, and Utility Engineers will get the information they need to better understand pipe and piping components such as valves along with technical information regarding their manufacture and use.  

Codes & Standards: This course provides the attendee with the broad, but specific information they need to perform their job more efficiently and effectively. It improves the understanding of regulatory compliance, how regulations come about, the difference between a code and a standard, when is it necessary to comply with a code, are you required to comply with standards, and what codes and standards apply to your situation.

Piping Design (1 of 2 Segments): The first 90 minute segment of this 2-Part course will provide the attendee with the basis for understanding industry requirements for Code compliance, Material Standards (ASTM), Manufacturing Standards (ASTM, ASME, MSS), and Government Regulations. It provides a brief history of where industry Standards come from, how they are developed, what their relationship is with the Code of Federal Regulations, and how they affect the specifications and design requirements of a project or an installed system. The attendee will learn what specifications and guidelines are required for a project, what information is required in those documents, and how to develop them. We will discuss component ratings, component selection, and material selection.

Piping Design (2 of 2 Segments): Some of the topics covered in the second 90 minutes will be pipe routing, pipe bending, slope, steam traps, corrosion allowance, location of process and utility pipe in a pipe rack, welding, supports, piping flexibility, cleaning, testing, validation, and other topics.

ASME BPE (High Purity Piping): Learn information needed to design piping for a bioprocessing facility including those aspects of piping design as covered under the ASME-BPE Standard. Gain a better understanding of the requirements and issues of installed pipe and tubing systems as they relate to high purity piping systems. Understand reasoning behind the emphasis placed on cleanliness, cleanability, uniformity, consistency, and quality assurance throughout the fabrication and installation process.

Steam & Condensate Design: This course will begin with terminology frequently used in conjunction with steam service. The course will then touch on steam tables. This will provide the basics for the rest of the course. The course will then step through some of the equations typically used in steam service. The attendees will go through exercises in sizing steam distribution mains and will be shown how to determine what the targeted steam pressure should be for a facility. We will discuss partial pressure and what effect it has on steam. The course will touch on such things as ambient sensing valves and whether they work or not.

Hazardous Piping System Design: Learn information needed to design a high integrity system for fluid services that may be considered hazardous. Better understand the inherent dangers and necessary steps required in maintaining a safe and secure piping system containing hazardous fluids. Learn the implications of designating a piping system as hazardous and requirements in fabricating and installing these systems.
